The Habits of Mental Resilience


In this clip, I share what's really helped me build mental resilience over the years.
Some of it is foundational — a natural sense of enthusiasm, and a long-term commitment to practices like meditation and yoga. But the biggest shift came from understanding what I call a Stockdale Moment.
That's the ability to face the brutal reality of your situation, while still maintaining absolute faith that you'll get through it.
During COVID, I made a decision early on: this would be a defining moment. Not something that happened to me — something I would lead through. That mindset changed how I showed up for my team, my clients, and my community during a very uncertain time.
At the end of the day, resilience comes back to this: your job is to serve. When you focus on serving others, it pulls you out of "woe is me" and puts you back into action.
That's where real strength comes from.
